Robert Doisneau’s entire portfolio (one of the most important photographers of the
twentieth century) will be the focus of a large exhibition in the Broletto in Pavia. About
70 black and white images are due to be exhibited in the historic 12th century palace,
reconstructing the French maestro’s entire creative universe, the man behind post-war
iconic photographs such as The Kiss (Le Baiser de l’Hotel de Ville). A so-called “image
fisherman,” the important exhibition was produced and put together by Di Chroma
Photography and ViDi – Visit Different, in collaboration with the Fondazione Teatro
Fraschini and the Municipality of Pavia. The Robert Doisneau Atelier will be curating
the exhibition along with Francine Deroudille and Annette Doisneau, who worked in
collaboration with Pozzi to bring together well-known works and other splendid images,
re-constructing the myth of a distant Paris in our collective imagination.
