La Venus Noire is a well hidden wine and cocktail bar a few steps from Fountain St Michel. It is a place full of history: its vaulted cellars date back to 1290 and it was once a prison. In one of its rooms you can see a wall that was signed by personalities such as Paul Verlaine, Oscar Wilde and Charles Baudelaire. But don’t let this mysterious atmosphere impress you, here people meet and communicate during happenings: concerts, evenings with visiting DJs, exhibition openings, reading and poetry evenings.
