The Village Vanguard

This Jazz Mecca opened its doors in 1935 and has been going strong ever since. It is known as one of the greatest places on earth to hear Jazz. Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, The Village Vanguard is home to aspiring musicians and to Jazz legends like Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and Hank Mobley. The pyramid shape of the room that seat around 120 people is said to enhance the acoustics of the sultry jazz that plays nightly. This is a place to sit quietly and sip on cocktails and be transported back in time with the sounds of timeless jazz. All ages are welcome, including well behaved, quiet children.
