The Banca del Vino is a cooperative set up in 2001.It was based on an idea suggested by Carlo Petrini at the end of the 1990s to build the historic memory of Italian wine by selecting, stocking and conserving the best wines of the peninsula. About 300 winemakers have deposited some of their best wines in the nineteenth-century Pollenzo winery where the current method of making the great Piedmont red wines began. The Banca is a unique place where you can find out about the Italy of great wines, a caveau open to the public housing the wealth and history of Italian wine and making it available for future generations.
