Akab is a true Roman establishment. Built in 1992 over the ruins of an ex-timber works in the shadow of Monte dei Cocci, the club opened as a venue for great musical events. In 1996, under Akab itself, the “Cave” was opened in the old horse stables, and was subsequently joined to the existing venue by an internal staircase. Due to its atmosphere and character, the Cave has variously been used as a film location, art gallery, and theatre for book launches and the screening of debut films. The first floor features mainstream music, house and live gigs, whilst upstairs pumps to the sound of R&B and hip hop.
