Caffè Giacosa

The ancient and famous confectioner’s shop Giacosa that has been spoiling palates since 1872, mixed with Cavalli’s quaint and aggressive fashion: this the Caffe Giacosa di Cavalli. A marvellous view over Palazzo Strozzi and via Tornabuoni, same staff of d’antan confectioners, designer clothes. The desserts are a safe choice, the “torta della nonna” and sacher cakes are fantastic, as are the blueberry and orange rind cheesecakes. The lunch is quicker, the dishes are almost only eaten while standing up, even if the nice patio offers table service. You can find the new Giacosa cafe in the courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi.
